With Christmas on the way, isn't it time we posted a related find? This was a wonderful find. Sadly, we have moved this one on now, though gladly, we took some pictures beforehand and can let you have a peep at this wonderful old book. It was published in 1939, and considering it was a children's pop-up book, it lasted considerably well over the years. No more talk, eh? Just feast your eyes on the pictures.
This is where we show and tell our vintage, retro and shabby finds. We don't keep them all to ourselves though - if you see something you want, just ask

Vintage Dubarry boxed gift set of toiletries
Just the thing if you want a really authentic vintage look to your dressing table
Set comprises:
2 soaps - unused and in their cellophane
6 Forget-Me-Not bath cubes still in their foil
1 bottle floral mist Forget-Me-Not - bottle is empty except for the merest dribble and seems to be the source of a spill
1 bottle Shalimar hand lotion "Recipe for Dainty Hands" to the rear
1 perfume bottle with squeezy bulb - I don't know if this works - appears a little stained on inside - might be OK with a wash?
1 Small blue plastic funnel (for pouring perfume into the bottle??)
1 Dropper - rubber bulb looks perished
1 Fragrant Talc satin smooth - still has label across the holes, so am assuming it is full
1 bottle of Forget-Me-Not perfume - approx three-quarters full
1 bottle of Forget-Me-Not Bath Foam - approx half full

Orange and yellow floral 1970s tea cosy
I don't know about keeping the teapot warm - I am not liking this November journey towards winter's cold days.
Cute egg cups
Not within the usual 'vintage' realm of the stuff we like, but eye-catching all the same. Just give them a gentle, but firm push down and voilĂ , they stick to the breakfast tray or table with a sucker action.
Ajax Radio
This is definitely one for the kitchen - many a cheese scone has been baked to the sound of The Archers and the seemingly repeated loop that is erm... Classic Gold, or whatever it is called now. To say the volume control is crackly is an understatement, but once you've found that sweet spot, this is medium wave nostalgia bliss!
This is giving me a Club Tropicana earworm
This one has sold, but I have another very similar one here. It would be fair to say that 1980s styles are at the very edge of our mid-century collecting continuum, and we don't often pick up bits and pieces of that style. This just had to be had though - just for a short while mind you, as it doesn't really fit in with the rest of our mish-mash of stuff. "Club Tropicana, drinks are freeeeee....."
Cute glass bowl lamp-base and pink shade
The glass bowl-type lampbase has a lid which unclips. You can put your own ornaments in it. This one has plastic roses. Wonderfully kitsch!
